Five Hours, Twenty Seven Minutes

I love play-off baseball, but Game 2 of the Rays-Red Sox ALCS was entirely too long.  I even was resigned to the fact that if the Rays had not scored in the bottom of the 11th I would have gone to bed.  Exciting? Yes, absolutely.

It is games like these that give fodder to those who say baseball is too slow.  I would argue with them since NFL games on Sunday’s are scheduled 3 hours apart for TV purposes, but I think those people would win the arguement after last night.  How does 6 more outs in October take 3 hours longer than the minium 27 outs in the middle of June?
